Sweet potato wedges

Sweet potato wedges are one of the most versatile sides out there, and with the Ninja Air Fryer, you can make yours seriously crispy

Ingredients

  • 1kg sweet potatoes, cut into 3cm wedges
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp paprika
  • ½ tbsp fresh thyme
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • handful fresh parsley, chopped, to serve

Method

1.  Soak the potatoes in cold water for 45 mins to remove the starch. When you have 5 mins left, insert the Ninja Air Fryer’s crisper plate into the pan, then place the pan into the air fryer. Select AIR FRY, set the temperature to 150°C and the time to 43 mins. Press START/STOP to begin and allow to preheat for 3 mins.

2.  Dry half of the sweet potato wedges with a clean tea towel. Place in a large mixing bowl with 1 tbsp vegetable oil and half the paprika. Stir to coat every wedge evenly.

3.  Once the air fryer is preheated, place the wedges onto the crisper plate and cook for 5 mins, then remove the pan and shake them, or toss them with silicone-tipped tongs. Reinsert the pan and resume cooking.

4.  After 20 mins, transfer the cooked wedges to a bowl and repeat the previous steps with the remaining half of sweet potato wedges. Once all the wedges have had 20 mins of cooking time, add to a large mixing bowl with 1 tbsp vegetable oil, and all the thyme, salt and cumin. Select AIR FRY, set the temperature to 200°C, and the time to 20 mins. Press START/STOP to begin and allow to preheat for 3 mins.

5.  Once preheated, place all the wedges in the pan and resume cooking. Remove and shake after 5 mins, then return to the pan. Once cooked, garnish with the parsley and serve immediately.
